Heatman Posted April 27 Share Posted April 27 Playing video games is a hobby for most people. There are so many people who started playing when they were kids and have kept playing heavily as adults. This act have affected them in so many ways and including on their social lives. A lot of them don't know how to socialise with people in the real world outside gaming. Friends from other parts of the world but we are so close through the games like we are within close distance. My gaming experience have been fantastic. I have always been someone who has suffered from social anxiety and being around people and interacting with them always made me nervous and really anxious. Gaming has helped to give me a social life without the need to be around people but to also be in control so that on the days where I know I will not be able to socialize, I can hide away so to speak. As long as a follower gamer whom I play online with treats me with respect, I'll return the same energy to him or her as well. This is why I try as much as possible to avoid being involved in such gaming communities because there is no way I wouldn't get aggravated by whatever they are going to do in such community which is going to affect my happiness.
