StaceyPowers
What are some games that force you to play some bits in total or near darkness?
The Blackangel
If you’re just meaning that you play at night, 2 games spring to mind immediately. Zelda OoT and RDR2. There are parts of Link To The Past that are in pitch black darkness, but link also has the lamp which lights up a tiny bit until he gets to a room with light or he lights a lamp in the room he’s in. I’m sure there’s a lot more, but I’m half asleep right now and can’t think of any at the moment.
HowHammerYou
Dark Souls 2 had this underground area that was so dark, you had to light torches so you didn't walk off the rickety platforms and fall to your death. It was annoying as hell. killamch89
killamch89
The Silent Hill series, some of the levels were totally dark that you could barely make out what's in front of you at times. RE7 is also another game that had some extremely dark areas for most of the game.
Knight Plug
All of the new RE games are pitch black. Ahem. 😆 Silent Hill, obviously.
Scorpion
Games like *Outlast* and *Amnesia* require playing in darkness for that chilling atmosphere. It adds tension and immersion to the experience. Knight Plug
Knight Plug
What about this? 🤭 Spoilers of course, so watch this at your own discretion.

RE7 is also another game that has segments that are extremely dark. Knight Plug
Knight Plug
Welp. Bloober Team pulled it off, despite the hate train going at full speed on gaming communities. I've now received my copy of Silent Hill 2 from the Amazon courier, and I'm about to start my descent into a horrifying world - just like I did for the first time way back in 2002! It's dark in my flat right now anyway. The rain is lashing down outside.
