Are games too easy/generalized now?

Recommended Posts

Honestly, no.  I think certain people and fanbases say that to put down people for enjoying more mainstream and less complicated games.  Soulsborne and CRPG fans I find are practically bad for this.

Actually many games these days have become more mainstream and less challenging. But on the brighter side, it also means that more people can enjoy gaming.

There's a difference between a game that's easy and a game that's easy to play.  That what these gaming elitist gatekeepers don't understand.

I never felt that games were too identical in terms of strategies to each other. Whenever I play a different game, I actually feel that I play a different game. Maybe I'm just used to it or I don't have a good match that would make it feel like I'm playing the same game.

Compare to 20-30 years ago, I'd say that game mechanics are much more simplistic - Back in the day, when you wanted to pull off combos in fighting games, you had to be pressing several buttons simultaneously and you had to time it or else you couldn't pull them off. Tekken and Mortal Kombat were guilty of this in the past.
