Will successful TV adaptations of video games lead to changes in games?

Lately we are seeing some really solid TV adaptations of video games. Do you think that will lead to any changes in how video games are developed in the future?

Not likely but you never know with this gaming industry. If there are enough successful TV adaptations and it makes a lot of money, I could see gaming companies trying to make their own TV adaptations in-house just so they can make all the profits.

Nope, I don't think it's going be affecting the video games per say because the video games are done before each TV adaptations are carried out. If anything is going to change, that would be the TV adaptations, not the game.

Absolutely! Successful adaptations could inspire developers to focus more on storytelling and character development, enhancing the overall gaming experience.

I believe we will see more and more story elements as we have seen in the Last of Us TV series.

Another possible evolution is the addition of background stories and dialogue options, present in the TV shows. This might mean better developed branching narratives and increased replay value in games.
