StaceyPowers
In dungeons/levels in games, one sometimes runs into NPCs in cages, usually animals or prisoners. Does anyone else struggle with what to do with them? If they’re not hostile, I let them out. But if they are, it annoys me that there is no way to get a positive outcome for them.
Scorpion
Absolutely. I always free non-hostile NPCs, but it’s frustrating when hostile ones can’t be helped. I wish more choices existed.
killamch89
I find it frustrating too. It’d be nice if games included moral dilemmas or consequences for our choices. Like, if you release a hostile NPC, maybe they could have a chance to change after seeing kindness.
GameOn
For me, freeing non-hostile NPCs feels very rewarding, but the hostile ones pose a big problem.
Button
Same happened to me as I always consider the NPCs' fate. If hostile, I always wish there was a way to calm them down.

I think they should providing more interactive options, like negotiating with or healing hostile NPCs
