Kennysplash
The Nintendo president, Shuntaro Furukawa, recently stated that longer game development cycles are unavoidable in the current gaming landscape. During a shareholder Q&A session, Furukawa mentioned that game development has become more complex, prolonged, and advanced, necessitating the expansion of development resources and necessary investments. Longer development cycles are unavoidable due to advancements in hardware and software. I believe this highlights Nintendo’s efforts to adapt and evolve while maintaining their dedication to quality and innovation.
Ajay25
This makes sense, but it also means games will be a lot more expensive (look for $100+ games, or games with high-priced expansion packs)
killamch89
I don't have any problems with that at all. Just look at games that launch annually like COD and Fifa and look who their quality has suffered over the years. I'm all for longer game development cycles if it ups the quality of games.
