killamch89 Posted July 28 Share Posted July 28 A number of teams have started their pre-season and it's been standard that a lot of the major teams have had very good starts. Of course, there were a few shockers, the most notable one being Chelsea getting destroyed by Celtic 4-1. You usually shouldn't read too much into the results but from the performance I've seen, a lot of those players simply aren't suited to Maresca's possession-based style of play. They look really uncomfortable playing out from the back and didn't show much adaptability when they were constantly getting opened up on the counterattack. What concerns me is that they keep firing managers every season and it's a young group of players. They need stability to thrive and Chelsea isn't providing that for them.
