New copies of Rule of Rose (PS2) found in Italy, causing prices to drop for UK version

Recommended Posts

If you're on the lookout for a copy of Rule of Rose, at least the UK release, you may be in luck. A shipment of UK releases were found, and are being sold currently. On eBay the game was going for around $600 or so, but since the find, the prices have dropped down by half. Sadly, since a lot of people are buying up these new copies, it's likely the price will go up again, and possibly by more. But this is good news, as it means there could be warehouses with old stock sitting around collecting dust. Makes me wonder how many classic games are still sitting in a box within a warehouse all these years.

I know Rule of Rose is a somewhat popular game. I have wanted to add it to my collection for years, but even with these new copies found, I don't think I'd be willing to pay $300 or so for it.

This is amazing news for collectors and I've also been eyeing Rule of Rose for years now but the price was always too steep for me. With the this new shipment, I might finally be able to add it to my collection.

Hopefully, this find will definitely lead to more hidden gems to be discovered. This discovery actually highlights the importance of digging through the old stock. Right now, I'm curious to see if that price drop will attract new collectors.

To be honest, while I would not say to never play it, the game is generally quite boring. But I think the controversy it received was what boosted its sales.

In my opinion, the  game's unique storytelling was actually overshadowed by its slow-paced gameplay. That's exactly what happened..

It's very crucial to not overlook the game's historical significance too. This game talks more on the challenges of crafting complex narratives in games and it's so amazing!

Well, I believe survival horror games really picked up again in 2013. Some people believed the genre would die a painful death in 2012 because of RE6 being a critical flop.

I mean, my dislike of RE6 diminished once the years went on. I still don't get why it's so disliked. Because if you enjoy RE4, 5 and so on, it plays the same way, to be honest. Only now you can move and shoot at things, which I appreciate. Having to just get a hatchet in your face because Leon or Chris just stood there in 4 and 5 because they were unable to run and cap them off sideways was just meh.

Rule of Rose is kind of like Haunting Ground, in that a dog named "Brown" helps you. They were actually made in a similar style to Clock Tower 3.
