So often I see threads on Reddit asking if gaming is a waste of time. Why do people

Because people like to look down on others for gaming. I would much rather be gaming than be running the streets and getting into trouble.

I think people ask if gaming is a waste of time because of the stereotypes and misconceptions that they have about gaming. I have seen so many people view gaming as an unproductive activity and they tend to compare it to more traditional hobbies like reading or sports.

The outdated stereotypes is definitely a big issue and also the misconceptions of the people. This is due to the lack of understanding that gaming can be a medium to offer experiences in education too.
