Kane99
Sony has unveiled a couple new PS5 consoles for PlayStation's 30th anniversary. The console replicates the original color scheme of the original PlayStation. The controllers, even share a similar color scheme. There will be a PS5 Pro version along with a PS5 digital edition. Both of course do not come with a disc drive, that is sold separately. They also have a PS portal in the same style. You can find the reveal trailer below, and an article on this news here - https://blog.playstation.com/2024/09/19/celebrating-30-years-of-playstation-with-a-nostalgic-look/
Lens
I so much love the retro vibe. What I'm wondering is if the PS5 Pro will offer performance upgrades or it's just some kind of aesthetic appeal. Knight Plug
killamch89
$700 and it doesn't have a disc drive? I'll definitely pass - this isn't an upgrade. How can Sony mess up this badly? Knight Plug
Button
Based on my observations, the it's like a cosmetic anniversary edition and it's not a hardware upgrade. Knight Plug
Knight Plug
Money grab. 😳 A console with no disc drawer. WHAT!? 🤤 🎮 🫣 Well, okay. I know Microsoft has a digital-only console. Even so. How dumb is this? How would you play movies you own physically?

You don't build this type of gaming console and fail to have a disc inside! Edited October 3, 2024 by Knight Barida
