Kane99
Nintendo has a war against emulation and emulators it seems, as they are actively now going after YouTubers who have shown off their games being emulated. One YouTuber in particular was issued a strike against his channel after Nintendo issues a copyright strike on him. This YouTuber, Retro Game Corps makes video reviews on handhelds that have the ability to emulate some games. RGC has stated he may file a counter-claim on it, but he isn't sure on doing that since Nintendo is well known for using their money to squash cases. In the meantime, RGC has no intention of featuring Nintendo games on his channel anymore. Do you think this will see a rise in YouTubers getting copyright strike for putting out content on emulating Nintendo games? GameOn
I appreciate Nintendo’s point of view, but to sue YouTubers like Retro Game Corps, that’s too much. There is a lot missing in the Nintendo epic sue case, it should target such real piracy sites instead of attacking harmless creators.
Button
Nintendo’s actions will definitely hinder creativity and ensure emulation goes deeper under the surface. The reviews which Retro Game Corps provided were both informative and fun. Emulation is useful in the gaming community and Nintendo needs to think twice
Lens
Nintendo’s approach is unhelpful. It is rather counterproductive. They are supposed to reward the fans and content creators.
Dead2009
They didn't go after him because of him emulating the games themselves, it's because he showed off handhelds designed to emulate the games. That's the problem in Nintendo's eyes.
killamch89
Nintendo has always been tight-wads when it came to emulators and things like that. Hopefully it comes to nothing.
Ravenfreak
This is so dumb, I suppose I'll have to be careful with Nintendo stuff now on my channel. I do have the means to play some of my Nintendo games on real hardware and I do have a Elgato capture device to showcase gameplay on real hardware but some things I don't have the means to record footage from. This is why I don't like Nintendo as a company.

It just seems like they're going after fans for emulating an aspect of the Nintendo characters and eventually, they'll go too far.
