Kane99
With the success of the Silent Hill 2 remake, it made me wonder if we'll end up seeing a Silent Hill 1 and 3 remake next? I think Konami will definitely work on some remakes going forward, and the Silent Hill series is likely to be picked over. I bet we'll end up seeing a remake of 3 before 1 and maybe even a remake of 4 at some point. Do you think the full series will get a remake? I know there are other Silent Hill games coming, but those are completely new games. Do you think we'll get remakes of some of the other Silent Hill games? Do you think we'll see remakes of Downpour or Homecoming? Maybe Shattered Memories? Knight Plug
killamch89
I can see this happening. I mean, Capcom did that with Resident Evil after the success of the first remake so I can see Konami doing the same. Knight Plug
Knight Plug
Yes. I am sure Konami is aware of the great amount of positive feedback for SH2, and will likely collaborate with Bloober Team again for a remake of the first game. I also wouldn't mind if they still allowed indie development teams to work on side games. But we still haven't gotten any news on f yet, or Townfall. killamch89

To be fair, I'm not quite sure we can trust Konami to make a new Silent Hill game that compares to the earlier games in terms of storytelling and quality and not mess it up. Knight Plug
Probably not. But I feel the same way about Capcom, because their older games were better too. They basically ruined them by changing the storyline, and recasting the roles. Survival horror really died off in 2005, because of RE4. Everyone tried to make their game like it afterwards. So RE4 was essentially the start of the action-horror era, where the main style of gameplay was just linear and all about shooting. I'll say this - I know RE games are quite repetitive especially over the past decade but I'd trust Capcom to create an above average one than I trust Konami to even make a decent SH game from scratch.
