killamch89
We’ve all seen those moments in films that just don’t add up, right? Whether it’s characters making baffling decisions, unrealistic technology, or physical phenomena defying the laws of nature, it feels like movies often take liberties for the sake of storytelling. What’s one particular aspect that consistently frustrates you or pulls you out of the experience?
The Blackangel
Historical inaccuracies. Things that are easily fact checked, but the company making the movie decides to bastardize it anyway. Just ask @Shagger and @Crazycrab about Braveheart. I know that movie REALLY pissed @Shagger off, and I would bet that @Crazycrab feels just as violated. I feel the same when they intentionally fuck up American history. I mean Abe Lincoln: Vampire Hunter was bad enough, for a pure bullshit story. But when they screw everything up without a care about reality, they’ve gone too damn far. The Patriot was a decent enough movie if you know nothing about the Revolution. But if you know anything about it, they may as well have had aliens fly in to win the war for the Americans. That would have been a hell of a lot more believable than what they put in the movie. In the movies, the characters see a creepy abandoned house and the first thing they think is ,"This looks like a nice place to stay!" and don't get me started on hearing strange noises outside and going to investigate without any weapons. Or even better, let's all split up and try to find out what that noise is and most times, they don't even split into teams so that someone can help watch their back. The lack of common sense irritates me.
