The Day Before Devs Are Asking The Community To Make Maps For Their New Game

How ballsy of Fntastic team, you know, the one who was responsible for The Day Before, well they're trying their hands at yet another game. They are asking their fans to design maps for their upcoming game "ITEMS". You may be wondering though, what happened to that kickstarter campaign for their other game, Escape Factory? Well that was cancelled recently and now they are focussing their attention on another game, simply called ITEMS.

That's not all though, as they are hosting a competition with fans to design maps for their new game. The winner will get to see their map added to the game, along with their name on the map and a free copy of the game on Steam when it releases. But, there's no cash prizes or anything else.

To me, it just sounds like they are making the fans do all the map design work and they will probably end up remixing all of the fan made maps into their own. I wouldn't put it past a team like Fntastic to do this just to get free work on their maps. Sure they say they will select one winner, but I could see them using every map sent to them, at least if they are good enough.

Anyway, what do you think about this? It doesn't scream trustworthy after The Day Before and the fact they outright cancelled their last game. I wonder if this is even going to go anywhere.

Saw this in my news feed yesterday.  These idiots came back from the void whare we all hoped they would stay promising honesty and transparency.  Within just a few weeks of that promise, they are asset flipping, trying to fund that asset flipping with a bullshit Kickstarter campaign and now trying to trick people into developing thier game for free.  Fuck Fantastic.  Glad to see they're not getting away with it, at least not in the eyes of the community.
