I think the Shining Force series definitely holds a special place in tactical RPG history, especially for its accessibility compared to other tactical games of its time. The mix of light storytelling, colorful characters, and easy-to-grasp gameplay made it stand out. For me, Shining Force II is the highlight of the series. The balance between exploration and tactical combat felt perfect, and the cast of characters like Bowie, Sarah, and Jaha still feels memorable today. While it may lack some depth compared to modern tactical RPGs like Fire Emblem or Final Fantasy Tactics, its charm and nostalgic appeal make it timeless.
