That pseudo-3D perspective was unlike anything I’d seen before, and it added a real sense of depth that made the gameplay feel futuristic. Sure, it was tricky to gauge movement at first, but that challenge was part of what kept me coming back. Sega definitely set a new bar for immersion with Zaxxon.
