Recommended Posts

Sega’s use of vector graphics in games like Zaxxon was revolutionary for its time, offering a unique 3D perspective compared to the typical pixel-based graphics. Did you enjoy the aesthetic or find it difficult to adapt to? How do you think these graphics impacted gameplay and immersion?

Agreed. Zaxxon’s graphics blew my mind as a kid. That pseudo-3D perspective was unlike anything I’d seen before, and it added a real sense of depth that made the gameplay feel futuristic. Sure, it was tricky to gauge movement at first, but that challenge was part of what kept me coming back. Sega definitely set a new bar for immersion with Zaxxon.
