For me, the most shocking has to be when they announced the acquisition of Bungie in 2022. A move that seemed to signal a shift in focus towards live service games, which was a huge departure from PlayStation's traditional single-player focus. What about you? For so long, PlayStation seemed resistant to the idea, and then suddenly they reversed course. It was shocking but also a huge win for players, especially for games like Fortnite and Rocket League.
