killamch89
In an industry constantly evolving, should gaming companies focus on pushing boundaries with innovative ideas, or is it better to stick with proven formulas that fans already love? While innovation can lead to fresh, exciting experiences, sticking to what works might guarantee a more reliable product. What do you think? Should developers take risks with new concepts, or play it safe with familiar mechanics and franchises?
Scorpion
Developers should balance innovation and familiarity. Taking risks can lead to breakthroughs, but nurturing beloved formulas ensures a loyal fanbase. Both matter!
killamch89
In my opinion, Innovation should be the priority - it’s what drives the industry forward. But that doesn’t mean abandoning proven formulas; instead, developers can innovate within familiar frameworks. Take FromSoftware, for example: they introduced the Soulsborne formula but continue to tweak and evolve it with every release, like with Elden Ring. It’s about trusting players to embrace change if it’s thoughtfully executed.
