killamch89
Opening sequences can set the tone for an entire series, whether it’s through iconic music, stunning visuals, or clever storytelling. From classics like The Sopranos and Twin Peaks to modern hits like Game of Thrones or Stranger Things, there are so many unforgettable intros. What’s your favorite TV opening and why? Does it perfectly capture the show’s vibe, or do you just never skip it because it’s that good?
Knight Plug
I'd say Buffy the Vampire Slayer, because it was fun to see a guest star be upgraded to a regular and have their name credited at the start of the episodes. The theme tune was just badass. But some episodes were poor. Others were just excellent. Spike was hilarious. He looked an awful lot like the singer Billy Idol, who is said to have "stole" Spike's image. 😜 killamch89
killamch89
Personally, I’d say the opening for True Detective (Season 1) is hard to beat. The haunting visuals paired with the music by The Handsome Family set such a chilling, atmospheric tone for the series. It’s not just a catchy intro; it perfectly encapsulates the dark, twisted vibe of the show and its exploration of the human psyche. I never skip it because it builds up the whole mood of the show right from the start.
