killamch89
The PS4 had a strong run with iconic titles like The Last of Us Part II, Spider-Man, and God of War. But how do you think it fared in terms of innovation? Did it push the gaming industry forward, or was it more about refining existing ideas? With the PS5 now out, how do you think the PS4's legacy compares, both in terms of game quality and hardware innovation?

killamch89
I’d rate the PS4’s lifespan as solid but not groundbreaking in terms of innovation. It excelled in delivering high-quality games like God of War and Horizon Zero Dawn, but the hardware mostly refined what the PS3 started. The DualShock 4 was a step up with the touchpad and light bar, but those features didn’t radically change gameplay. In comparison to the PS5’s SSD and haptic feedback, the PS4 focused more on perfecting existing formulas rather than redefining the industry. Its legacy will likely be remembered for its incredible library rather than hardware leaps.
