Every other average person out there would have to save up for a period of time before buying something big. What's the big thing you're currently saving up for? Sounds like you're saving for at least one year's worth of rent which is what I usually do as well just so I can have money to fall back on if the moving and other fees end costing me a bit more than I budgeted for. I’m also saving up a significant amount of money month by month to attempt to afford the ability to travel to see Australia in the upcoming years.
