Nowadays, a lot of things have changed, and it makes me wonder why it is so. It's kind of always been that way - the players with a certain skillset will be best utilized in a certain position that maximizes those skillsets. It's basically the same across many other sports. Expand It is the reason why managers doesn't want players who are lazy in their team. This is because there is no way such players are going to get better and contribute 100% in matches they play. Expand It's only special players like Messi who are blessed with the skills that doesn't need to train so much. Even Pep Guardiola said it when he was managing Barcelona with Messi in the team. Expand Even Cristiano Ronaldo have missed penalties. Messi too have also missed penalties too. No player is above missing penalties.
