Kane99
Epic Games has been ordered to refund over $72 million worth to Fornite players who accidentally purchased items in game. The FTC has won a lawsuit settlement which is requiring Epic Games and Fornite to fork over refunds to gamers. It seems to be a set amount of players though, as only 629,000 or so can qualify. If you have a legit claim for an accidental purchase, you can submit a claim by January 10, 2025. It is only limited to people in the US. I can't imagine it'll be easy to get into this. I can see the amount of claims reaching well over 630K. It's being said this settlement was being worked on since 2022. And the main reason a settlement was brought up, was due to Epic Games alleged violation of the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). The lawsuit also alleged that Epic Games manipulated users by using design tricks. If you're one of the players who qualifies for said settlement, they can stand to make $114. They of course have to submit proof, and that they meet the requirements specified by the case. killamch89
I agree and I've been saying this for a while that a lot of these companies do this. We need more of them to be charged for using such deceptive practices to get money out of their users.
