Knight Plug
Since RE9 is likely far away from coming out, what are you hoping becomes of the series in general? I recall some new game with Rebecca Chambers set in a med school was supposed to be the third Revelations game. However, it was likely just gossip. Nothing has been officially confirmed, so maybe it was completely axed. I definitely want the storyline with Alex Wesker to return somehow. Barry Burton adopted Natalia, and you could see the girl was reading a book, with a sinister grin. This suggests Alex is controlling her mind. So despite her death on that island, her body swapping experiment seems to have been a success. But as it is, Capcom often introduces new story aspects, then chooses to ignore much of it. Thus constantly creating a big mess in the canon.
Scorpion
I completely agree! The potential for Alex Wesker's return is intriguing. Capcom should focus on unifying the storyline rather than ignoring past threads. Knight Plug
Knight Plug
I think she has potential to be the main villain. But then they get silly and go with the likes of Alcina Dimitrescu. A vampire mistress. LOL. Apparently, RE9 will feature a villain known as Mr. Simon. He's probably the guy who was talking to Lucas Baker in RE7, who is working for the Connections. This is seen in the Not a Hero DLC. I honestly think they are working on bringing back Umbrella as the primary threat, but how they go about doing it is a bit too slow for my liking. It could even be that the BSAA is not as good as they seem. But this is all rather confusing, giving how they introduce these story aspects in a vague manner. Because Chris working for Umbrella doesn't feel in any way right.

Let's just hope it isn't another, "we've been secretly working on this new more improved BOW" scenario. That plotline has been used to death in the RE franchise and they love making improvements on the Tyrant version. Knight Plug
Knight Plug
I haven't a clue. Capcom seems to enjoy jumping all over the place. Even I have difficulty making sense of where it's all heading. RE7 just revealed Umbrella had returned, seemingly benevolent this time, with a blue logo. During RE8, Chris finds out the BSAA was using bioweapons. So he's supposed to go to Europe to investigate that, but so far, nothing has become of that cutscene. Then they jump ahead in time, showing Rosemary as a teenager. So none of it adds up. If you ask me, they're 'carrot dangling' to get people to keep buying the games. If they aren't going to fill in these holes, it's kind of pointless to have so many angles in the franchise that goes nowhere.
