killamch89
With the rise of devices like the Steam Deck and GPD Win, I’ve been wondering how durable these modern PC handhelds are. They pack powerful hardware into compact, portable designs, but I’m concerned about long-term wear and tear. Have you used one of these devices for extended periods? How do they hold up against everyday drops, heat, or stress from heavy gaming sessions? Are they built to last, or do they feel fragile?
Scorpion
I've used a handheld PC for extended periods and found them to be surprisingly durable, withstanding drops and heavy gaming sessions, but proper care is still necessary to prevent damage.
killamch89
I've had my Steam Deck for over a year now, and I've been really impressed with its durability. I've taken it on trips, used it for hours every day, and even accidentally dropped it a couple of times. It's held up surprisingly well. The build quality feels solid, and while I wouldn't recommend throwing it around, it definitely feels like it can withstand everyday wear and tear. To be fair though, I do have a case on mine most of the time because they do cost quite a bit to replace.
