But how crucial are their handheld exclusives (like Pokémon or Zelda on the Switch) to Nintendo’s overall success? Do these titles drive hardware sales, or is Nintendo’s success more about brand loyalty and innovation? Would they be as successful without these exclusive games? They’ve introduced a hybrid system, and with the gaming demands of the times, they can’t slow down. Which is why I think they’ve shot themselves in the foot.
