With the rise of pop influences, slick production, and mainstream appeal, has the genre strayed too far from its traditional storytelling and simple melodies? The Blackangel Posted January 8 Share Posted January 8 In the 80’s and early 90’s, country music was genuine. It was in line with what the lives of its fans were like. I agree and you could say that for pretty much every genre of music at this moment. They've all lost their authenticity and turned into commercialized pop genres.
