Demon_skeith
After the first launch of every mainline Playstation console launch, it was followed by a slimmer version. Did anyone here ever buy any of the slim consoles?
DylanC
I picked up the slim version of the PS3 when my launch edition began to sound like an aeroplane taking off. It was the first proper slim model for the PS3 and it's a nice piece of kit. They are usually well made, though it depends as Sony released a really cheap 12GB version of the PS3 late in its life cycle which looked cheap and plastic. Most of the time, the first slim model they release is an improvement in some shape or form (smaller, draws less power, for example). That said, it's also a way for the company in question to cut the manufacturing costs in the back-end and save some money.
Demon_skeith
I know my brothers and other relatives upgraded themselves to a slim PS1. My fat PS2 never failed me and by the time I was ready for the PS3, the slim version was all there was. For PS4, I went with the Pro version which I guess is a slim? I've still got my launch fat PS4, but I'm so tempted to pick a Pro up. Maybe next pay day...
Demon_skeith
I also like to say the slim PS2 was junk, a lot of people I know said it never lasted as long as the fat PS2 did. Sony went cheap with it.
o-o
Wouldn't recommend it if you already have the previous style. But it looks better and its weigh if lower.

In all seriousness, Other than the size difference they are the same thing. When I was really into console gaming, I always got the PlayStation at launch.
