The Stanley Parable deconstructed player agency and game design conventions in ways that repeatedly surprised me. Its exploration of choice, narration, and the relationship between player and designer created a meta-commentary on gaming itself. Years later, I still catch myself thinking about its philosophical implications during other gaming experiences.
