This discussion invites insights on how AR can enhance the learning curve, improve safety protocols, and provide dynamic problem-solving environments in space exploration training programs. What potential benefits do you foresee in using AR to simulate hazardous scenarios or to refine technical skills?
The Blackangel
It may have its Pro’s, but it has just as many Con’s as well. On one hand, it makes a lot of space exploration safer. No more Challenger or Columbia disasters. But at the same time, no one will ever go to space if they’re doing it here. AR, VR, and robots/androids can really screw up anyone into any portion of astronomy. If we’re not doing any of it, what’s the point? If I had the choice of visiting any of Jupiter’s moons safely here on earth, or taking the actual trip and the risks that go with it, I would be the first one on the shuttle. There’s a reason why we have both astronomers and astronauts.
