What features or technologies from earlier PlayStation models do you miss in current generations?

One thing I really miss from older PlayStation models is sharing game discs with friends. It was great to play together on the couch and talk about strategies. I also miss the memory cards that made saving and backing up games so easy. Plus, the fun startup sounds and animations gave me a sense of nostalgia. What features from past PlayStation consoles do you wish you could still enjoy today?
