Kane99
Source - https://kotaku.com/playstation-studios-visual-arts-layoffs-cuts-last-us-1851767734 It's almost daily now that we hear of more layoffs in the gaming industry. For an industry that is making billions upon billions, they sure find it hard to actually pay the employees who put their heart and soul into the video games they make or work on, all for a paycheck that probably doesn't pay the best to begin with. Anyway, it seems Sony has decided to lay off more of their employees, this time it's the team at Visual Arts who are being let go. They haven't revealed the amount of people being laid off, but I'm guessing the whole team at Visual Arts is out. Do you ever think we're going to see a slow down on the constant layoffs? Or is this a trend that will continue on for years to come?
Scorpion
It's disheartening to see such layoffs in an industry thriving financially. The disconnect between profits and employee treatment is troubling. I fear this trend might persist as companies prioritize profits over their talented workforce, but I hope for change soon.
killamch89 Posted yesterday at 01:01 AM Share Posted yesterday at 01:01 AM This isn't a surprise. A lot of companies across the board have been laying off staff due to the dire economic situation.
Knight Barida Posted yesterday at 02:58 AM Share Posted yesterday at 02:58 AM The gaming executives seem to be the ones who have got some certain level of job security in the industry. Aside from them, everyone else shouldn't be surprised when they are laid off from their job as it is now a common practice.
