EA Delists Multiple Classic Games On Steam Without Any Warning

Recommended Posts

Well you think EA one days does something good like releasing source code for the command and conquer series, but then blow that goodwill away when they decide to then delist a bunch of games on the Steam store without any warning to gamers. According to this article here - https://tech4gamers.com/ea-delists-multiple-codemasters-games-steam/

EA recently delisted 6 Codemasters developed games with no explanation or warning as to why, those games being;

  • Damnation
  • Hospital Tycoon
  • Maelstrom
  • Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising
  • RIse of the Argonauts
  • Toybox Turbos

These were titles that Codemasters developed and published before EA bought them up. EA owns the entirety of Codemasters catalog I hear, so who knows how many more games they will remove. I think it's wrong to not give a warning about these games being removed. They could have put out a tweet or something signifying that the games will be removed soon and to buy them quick. Hell, they could've done a quick sale before they took the games down.

What do you think about this news?

I completely agree with your frustration. It's disappointing that EA would remove games without warning, especially after gaining goodwill with the source code release. They should have communicated better and given gamers a chance to grab these titles before they disappeared.

It is so wrong for them to do this. Those games are the ones lot of players must have had some good memories playing, and delisting them out of the blues will feel unfair to those people.
