Do you prefer visiting natural parks or urban botanical gardens?

Recommended Posts

Exploring green spaces offers a refreshing escape from the daily grind, and I’m curious about your preference between visiting natural parks and urban botanical gardens. Natural parks provide vast wilderness, scenic trails, and a sense of untouched nature, while urban gardens offer curated landscapes, artistic designs, and convenient accessibility. Which environment do you find more rejuvenating, and why?

Fuck urban. You might see a tree or two, but it has nothing to do in relation to the real thing. You’ll see and hear so much in the wild. Birds chirping, squirrels chittering, maybe see a deer or something. You can’t get that in an urban park. The only reason to do the urban shit is if you’re not able to do the real thing for whatever reason.

Natural parks win for me because of the sense of discovery and adventure. There's something deeply restorative about hiking in unspoiled wilderness without perfectly manicured paths. That said, I appreciate botanical gardens during winter months when nature parks are less accessible.
