Well-designed rewards can significantly enhance the gaming experience by creating a sense of achievement and community. However, when rewards feel trivial or repetitive, they lose their impact. Personally, I enjoy meaningful titles, but superficial badges often fade in importance.

Chasing milestones is never bad when it comes to playing games. So, playing for new badges is definitely a welcome development as far as I am concerned.
