I have used Bitcoin to buy a game on Steam, and it seemed just as fast and easy. It was an indie game, so that felt really good to be able to help directly fund the developers. There are going to be more game developers that would have the cryptocurrency payment options available and they have the confidence because the fear of volatility is gone with how they setup their structure.
