Four-Way Bidding War Erupts Over StarCraft IP Rights

Recommended Posts

It looks like the IP rights to StarCraft could be sold off by Blizzard and Microsoft. Why Microsoft would want to get rid of StarCraft is beyond me, considering how popular of a franchise it was and still is. Now it seems that four studios, all in South Korea, are in a bidding war to secure the classic franchise. Those being; NCSoft, Nexon, Netmarble, and Krafton.

But why would MS and Bizzard want to get rid of such an important IP? Is this just Microsoft's way of recouping some costs?

It's surprising that Microsoft and Blizzard would consider selling off such a beloved franchise like *StarCraft*. Perhaps they see it as a way to streamline focus on more profitable projects or reduce overhead costs. It’s intriguing to see how this bidding war unfolds!
