"Fetch me a bucket"

This is sort of a follow-up to @Scottypops 's post regarding the lack of variety in enemies in large open world games. Does anyone find the lack of variety in quests equally annoying? I swear like 70-80% of the quests in most open world games come down to "fetch me a bucket" (or book, or weapon, or etc.). Fetch quests are okay, but they are quite monotonous after a while.

Fetch quests don't really bother me as much as they probably should. I dunno, I like helping people. And while I enjoy variety as much as the other person, sometimes something as simple as retrieving an important item to someone can be nice as well.

Echoing similar sentiments to those above, I really don't mind fetch quests. If fetch quests are overused and are too similar, then it does become more of an issue. What I find way worse than fetch quests, are quests that don't have clear instructions to progress. That bugs me more.
