Listening to music whilst playing

Depends on the game. Some games with little to no BG music I'll just turn music off and listen to my own, or if the soundtrack is "meh" as well. If they have a great soundtrack, I'll use in-game instead. For example, the Horizon Zero Dawn/Forbidden West series.

The type of games I like (rich storyline, long campaign) requires me to pay attention to the game itself, so I never listen to music while playing.

I'd rather hear the game audio than the songs in the background, helps keep me more focused on the game and less distracted.

When I was a girl I would listen to NKOTB while I played NES. My favorite memory (gaming wise) is listening to them while I played Blaster Master.

I listen to Afro pop when I play games most of the time. Listening to music and even singing along while playing helps me focus more. It also engages my other senses so I am not easily bored.

I like to listen to music while I’m playing games. It makes gaming even more fun and entertaining. It also motivates me to play better.

That's a great approach. I also make sure to tailor my music choice to the kind of game I'm playing at that moment. It was recently, I discovered that music can greatly enhance our  gaming experience.
