Violent Games and Teen Aggression Aren’t Linked?

They can blame video games all they want but it doesn't change the fact that they are totally wrong and their so called research off chart with their half baked findings. A violent kid or a teenager is a product of how the parents brought the child up with things that happened in his or her life.

Politicians always look for ways to distract the public from the true issues and absolve themselves of any kind of responsibility so the easiest thing is to blame videogames.

It's the dirty side of politics that our government gets into that's very frustrating. When they are underperforming, they would be looking for anything to throw the masses mind off the more persistent issues. They are truly shameless.

Ex-fucking-actly!  The parents that push this nonsense just cannot accept, get their heads around or simply can't be bothered to look into the fact the human animal is a psychologically very complicated.

They would rather simplify the process down a one simple thing that absolves their children and more importantly them any responsibility because it makes them feel better about themselves.  Over the years these kind of irresponsible tossbags have blamed high school shootings, murder's, bullying and a multitude of crime's on video games, movies, music and even books.  The only media sources that have debatably led to violence and hatred are the so holy books like the Bible and Quran, but that's another issue.

This violence bullcrap about video games and other media is a diversionary tactic for shitty parents and politicians to swing attention from what's really to blame, which easy access to guns (looking at you again, 2nD amendment), abject poverty, mental health and quite often themselves or least their living environment.

As much as people like @skyfire would like to because it's more convenient, you cannot the source of someone's and certainly not multiple people's violent behaviour down to one denominator.  It's case by case and complex.  Even the perps themselves usually don't properly understand why did what they did.

Let me sum it here:

VIOLENT MEDIA ALONE DOES NOT CREATE VIOLENT PEOPLE AND THIS HAS BEEN HAVE PROVEN DOZENS OF TIMES THROUGH DECADES OF STUDY, END OF STORY.

@Crazycrab did justice to the topic. There are very many things that influences how an individual chooses to relate or react to other people in the society and we have to look at the psychological aspects instead of relying just on what is visualized what about personal experience like been abused as children , taking hard drugs and excessive alcohol and other vices. Yes video games can influence but 80% of violent people I know in my neighborhood don't even play video games and can't even afford to get a good console.

So what does Oxford have to say to say about that.

I am of the opinion that people see an angry, raging teen on CS:GO or some other fps and conclude that violent game = violent teen. It doenst affect them after or before the game. People rage during all types of competitive activities when they lose. Nobody is actively trying to shut down sporting events even though competitive sports have evolved from the reduction of war over the last 200 years. People know of football hooligans and condemn them but nobody blames the act of football itself as being the cause of said hooligansim.

You're right about how football and its fans have been linked with all manner of violence and bad life decisions (betting/gambling), none of these so called researcher have come out to openly criticize football. I have seen a few reports online about some people that committed suicide all because of football. But when it comes to video games, they will start looking for a way to make news headlines and newspaper's front page.
