skyfire
I recently also checked out a solution where you can extend it for like 180 days.

skyfire
No. I got the upgrade recently now that Win 7 is shutting down, I think such upgrade is a good idea.
Zro
I shut mine down if I'm not going to be using it within the next few hours. With an SSD my boot time is a few seconds so it's not a big deal and saves energy.
Oliver
I see absolutely no reason to leave it on , so might as well turn it off to reduce wear and tear and use less electricity
ARx182
If I am downloading/updating something, I lock my PC but leave it on. Otherwise, unless I am using my PC, I turn it off. I know a few leave their PC on all day and overnight but unless you're using it, surely it is a waste of electricity.
Kane99
I have my PC on 24/7 for the most part. When not in use I just put it into sleep mode, which is perfectly fine to do. It's probably better than turning your PC off and on often. Plus I work a lot on my PC so I just figure it'd save me time when I need it.
skyfire
I once was being told by some of the technicians that I should not keep laptop having the on mode and folder. I can at the most keep it logged out and sleep instead.
Patrik
Leaving it on won't damage it ( as temperature will stay low since the PC parts will be doing nothing) but there is no point of doing that, it's just a waste of power
skyfire
I am learning to break out of the habit of leaving it on. And wish to turn off when I am done with the computer usage. I guess by turning off things would be pretty good that way.
Syntax
I personally leave my computers on 24/7, unless it is a laptop. Shoot, I think my Plex Server (Windows 7 old junk machine) has been online and up for over 90 days now since the updates got disabled/end of life'd. skyfire
I have realized during the pandemic that unless I have a backup PC, there is no need for stretching the device 24/7 and also need to reboot or shut down every now and then.

That's what I've been telling you. If you're not using your machine, it doesn't make much sense to have it running all the time. You save on electricity along with other things. skyfire
Yeah and the thing about backup machine. I realized too late. Now I do have backup machine which I keep turning on every now and then lately. Not using it all the time. Just making use of both machines once in a while.
