Alexander.
Have you ever experienced the error message "This disk can't be read" and you eject and put the disk back in the Xbox and it works? I have an Xbox 360 and this happens quite a lot. Does this happen to anyone else? What's the best way to fix this issue? Thank you
kingpotato
Its your Xbox, the laser its not working properly anymore, you can confirm by inserting the same disk into another Xbox and you will notice that the disk works fine. But if you do see the error message on a different Xbox then that means its the disk but I doubt it since you didnt mentioned a specific disk. It's happening with all Disks on my console, unfortunately I don't have a spair to try this on. How would I go about fixing the Laser and having this technical issue diagnosed? What retailer would you suggest for repairs? Edited April 1, 2019 by xXInfectedXx

Not worth it, the diagnose and the repair plus the purchase of the spare laser will cost you even more, the new laser will most likely be generic and it will only last for about a year, believe me I've tried this. Just get a new one, well I dont think its possible to find one brand new but just get another Xbox with warranty.
skyfire
Looks like the disk is damaged or maybe reader issue. I wonder what OP did so far and what is the final result of this.
Shortie
Yes, I used to get this a lot on my Xbox 360, and it was such a pain in the behind if I am honest. I would check the disk, clean it, check for scratches or anything else that would cause the error and I wouldn't find anything, would put the disk back in and it would boot up fine. Sometimes I felt that it was the disk drive would just have issues reading the disk for whatever reason or that maybe the disk drive was just failing but it wouldn't do it with every disk, so it was a difficult one and definitely one that baffled me. I can't say it's ever happened to me on my One X though but then again, I don't use many disks now as most things are now digital.
Justin11
Yeah, I experienced it once event I was trying to install the program for my new wireless controller on my PC, but it was later sorted out.
Smokey
I remember this happened a lot on my older brother's original xbox after awhile. I was never able to play it, but I do remember him having issues with it after a few years up until he moved out to get his own apartment. I guess that's to be expected over time. Disc drives just tend to fail and need replacing. I remember it happened to one of my PS2's back in the day, the laser inside completely died and I needed to buy a new PS2. Ravenfreak
I haven't had this issue happen to me on my Xbox 360. I have had this issue on a PS2 however. Take a look at the disc first, if it's full of scratches you should get it resurfaced and this most likely would fix the problem. If the game looks decent, try other games and if you run into the same problem the laser could be going out. Sometimes a simple cleaning can fix disc read issues too! Lens
I've had that issue before. It's so frustrating when you're in the middle of a game and one error just pops up. Adjusting the disk reader's laser might help or you can also replace it completely.
Button
It's always very frustrating when technology doesn't work as expected. I think that the permanent fix is to try a different disk or consulting Xbox support.
