StaceyPowers
Both @killamch89 and @The Blackangel commented here that long and unskippable cutscenes can be irritating, particularly if they do not advance a story. I have to admit I actually tend to like cutscenes, short and long. Then again, I think maybe I’ve simply been lucky in playing games where they tended to contribute to story and character development. They give my brain a bit of a breather between the action, which I often need, or I can get fatigued/lose effectiveness. Do you typically like or dislike cutscenes, and what does it take to make a cutscene worthwhile to you?
killamch89
I dislike cutscenes very much especially when it doesn't really add anything in terms of useful information in-game. I typically like my cutscenes to have some information which will help with world building and on how to complete the current quest/objective. I also like when I have the option to skip them and I don't like them lasting longer than 2-4 mins.
The Blackangel
If it adds to the story, fine. If it doesn't, then why the hell is it there?
kingpotato
I have encounter a cutscene that I hated, some boring ones sure but nothing that I consider long.
skyfire
I think cutscenes can be definitely good if you are into games like prince of persia.
