The Blackangel Posted August 25, 2019 Share Posted August 25, 2019 I picked up the first 3 Devil May Cry games today. I'm looking forward to trying them out. I just had a few questions about them. is this the type of series that you need to play them in order to really get what's all going on? Also which one does everyone say is the best of the first 4 entries? Why do you say it's the best? Is there anything specific I should know before I dive in head first? I'm sure I'll like them, as I really like DMC4. I can't say I'm particularly good at DMC4, but that doesn't stop me from liking it. killamch89 Posted August 30, 2019 Share Posted August 30, 2019 The story is quite convoluted and the the games run in the order of 3,1,2,4,5 - In my opinion, I'd say DMC 3 is the best of the first 4 entries as it gave us the backstory on Dante and Virgil and how their sibling rivalry came about.Yes, you do have to play the games to get the "bigger picture". Since you've already played DMC 4 and liked it, there isn't much more I can add other than the DMC games are all pretty similar when it comes to combat so you won't encounter any major surprises with the others.
