Kane99
So this is good news, especially after EA purchased Codemasters recently. Codemasters will remain as an independent group. From the sounds of it, they will be free to continue like nothing has changed. Of course they will probably be tasked to start something for EA, so we shall see how that turns out. This was EAs idea as well, and they seem cool with it. I hope this means this team can work on whatever they want without fear of getting reprimanded for not making a release date. but, we shall see, because it could end up turning out bad. With EA, you never know. You can read about this here - IGN
Withywarlock
That's unfortunate because they need better direction, not funding, to make games that can push beyond decent. Independence isn't going to change that, unless the 'threat' of being brought under Electronic Arts' wing properly is enough for Codemasters to get their act together. At least EA's in talks about handling the Formula 1 license. I won't like the monetisation, but at least the game will stand a chance in the multiplayer arena now. skyfire
I think during the contract signing is the time when such deals are done. Like say you want creative freedom and keep the some limits for the owners from interfering that is often done. Withywarlock
killamch89
Sure they will - Bioware said the same thing years ago and look at them now. Codemasters will be a shell of itself within 5 years as several of their staff will either leave or be moved to another EA studio leaving it rift of talent. EA has done this countless times and Codemasters is the latest one to go.
