Kane99
What are your thoughts or opinions about games playing ads in game? Or maybe putting up ads in the game world even? I don't much mind a static ad in a world that can be passed by, but if it's an ad in a menu it's kind of annoying, but if it forces a timed ad on you, that's a no no imo. I would understand if it's a free to play game, but if it's anything that you already paid for, you should never be stuck waiting behind an ad. What do you guys think? I wouldn't mind if the ad was creative and out of the way, or isn't forced down your throat.
Withywarlock
In the sense of driving, walking or flying past them in games such as Prototype or Forza, I couldn't give two shakes of a Mann Co. crate. That's personally speaking; in my professional opinion they have zero business in a game I pay for under any circumstances, unless the game couldn't be made without them (for example, racing games requiring license to use real world cars; an energy drink poster has no place in the game unless it causes problems with the cars.... which could just not be featured.) When it comes to pop-ups or things appearing in loading screens or whathaveyou, I'm totally against that. That said, if there has to be a choice between ads and microtransactions, let there be a choice. That if is a very big if though. So-called AA+ publishers needn't entertain that possibility. Patrik
i believe that these exist on mobile games only (based on my experience), they aren't that fun of thing at all, especially when your volume is high, then some ad pops up, it's really annoying and some games ask you to pay to get them removed, if it's a matter of few bucks, and you really love the game, then it shouldn't be a big deal, but some of them don't have that option and those ads keep happening again and again, one more reason to not play mobile games :( AndreiMirfi
Empire
As long as it doesn't feel wrong in the game i'm fine with it, for example EA advertises their social accounts (Twitter, Instagram etc) in FIFA on the advertising boards in-game. Obviously to mimic real life, as football grounds have adverts around the side of the pitch.
skyfire
I do want to support the developer, if they can option ton choose between ads or pay for it. I prefer that. Ads on the front menu of the game are fine by me. But in between the game experience. I hate it.
Syntax
I think that if some of them make sense, like add that are based on the game, sure. Now if it’s a pure ad that has no purpose it gets kind of annoying. Things like promoting a company isn’t an ad directly in my eyes, AKA how monster energy was so promoted in death stranding. killamch89
Scummy practice that EA came up with - as usual. Personally, I think it's very scummy - I mean, you pay full price for a title that already has microtransactions in it and now you have ads in it too. Next thing you know they'll have those spammy porn ads in-game as well. Family sedan

Shagger
Fuck them. They're nothing but a deliberate annoyance. OK, they're not nearly as predatory or harmful as lootboxes and microtransactions in general, but they are used as a tool to drive people to microtransactions, so they are a cog in that machine. That, however, applies to FTP games. If the game is not FTP, especially a premium AAA title, then there is no excuse whatsoever. I hate Sky TV for having adds in there programs when you have to buy the service to begin with, so fuck any game that does the same thing. Netflix doesn't do this shit nor does Amazon Prime Video. Spotify and YouTube remove ads when you pay permium, same story with game streaming services live Xbox Game Pass and PS Now. For FTP, I can tolerate it, even though it's still used as a tool to draw people into spending, and that's disgusting. However, I double dare anyone to try and defend this practice on Pay-to-Play games or game you play through a subscription. killamch89

Heatman
Well, these companies need to make more money from those ads but when it becomes too much, then it can be very annoying and a total piss off.
