During the month of December, members of PlayStation Plus have been able to enjoy titles like Soma, Onrush, Steredenn: Classic, SteinsGate, Iconoclasts, and Papers, Please. But the announcement for the games we’ll be able to play for free next month should be on the way in just a few days! Here are our free PlayStation Plus January 2019 predictions.
1. One Piece: Burning Blood
Our first prediction for January 2019 is One Piece Burning Blood. This fighting game is based on the anime by the same name, and was developed by Spike Chunsoft for PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Xbox One and Windows PC. This could draw attention to Spike Chunsoft’s upcoming manga-inspired fighting game Jump Force, due to release in mid-February.
2. Dirt Rally
Our next guess is the racing game Dirt Rally, which released in 2016 on PS4 and Xbox One (also available on Windows, macOS and Linux). There could be no better time to feature it, since Dirt Rally 2.0 is coming out on February 26th on all major platforms.

3. Kung Fu Panda: Showdown of Legendary Legends
This fighting game released in 2015 on PS3, PS4, and other major platforms. It was of course based on the DreamWorks film franchise by the same name. While it was featured in December 2017, offering it for free again through PlayStation Plus would help to highlight two upcoming releases: DreamWorks Dragons: Dawn of New Riders, and Ghost of a Tale.
The DreamWorks connection in the case of the first game is obvious. In the case of the second, the connection is Lionel “Seith” Gallat, the designer for Ghost of a Tale. Gallat has worked on DreamWorks films in the past as well as movies from Universal Pictures.
4. Burnout Paradise
Another driving game expected in February is Dangerous Driving, a title which seems to hearken back to the popular Burnout series. So we might also see Burnout Paradise featured for free through PS Plus next month. It has been featured before, but that was clear back in 2011.

5. Devil May Cry 4
A big release slated for March 8th is Devil May Cry 5. In 2014, DmC: Devil May Cry was featured for free, so January (or February) of this upcoming year might be a good time to feature Devil May Cry 4.
As Sony usually announces next month’s free games on the final Wednesday of the month, we should find out which games we’ll be able to kick off 2019 with in just a few days on December 26th. Check the PlayStation blog for the announcement. Usually it shows up at about 4:30 and 5:00 pm BST/11.30-12.00 EST. Keep up with all PlayStation news on VGR.
