Free PlayStation Plus September 2019: Our Predictions

Enjoying the free PS Plus games for the month of August, including the WipEout Omega Collection and Sniper Elite 4? While these titles will offer plenty of fun over the weeks ahead, you probably are already starting to wonder what the free PlayStation Plus September 2019 games will be. Following are some of our predictions.

1. Strider

One of the biggest releases slated for September is the Iceborne expansion of Monster Hunter World for PS4 and Xbox One. So why not another Capcom game for free through PS Plus next month? One idea would be 2014’s Strider, itself a reboot of the classic video game by the same name from 1989.

Strider from 2014 is a possibility for the free PS Plus September 2019 games list.

Strider was released on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and Windows PC. It was received well by players and critics for its addictive gameplay. Notably, Sony has made it free through PS Plus before, but not in years, so it would be a good time to bring it back around again.

2. Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen

Another option for a Capcom game which would be great for Sony to feature next month would be the 2012 game Dragon’s Dogma—but specifically the enhanced 2013 version called “Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen” that was ported in 2017 to PS4. The action RPG received high ratings, and was recommended to fans of games like Dark Souls or The Witcher 3.

In 2013, the PS3 version of the Dark Arisen edition was free through PS Plus. So maybe it is time to finally make the PS4 version free through the service.

3. The Technomancer

Another game which will release in September is GreedFall. This game comes from developer Spiders. We think one of their past releases might make a good choice for next month’s free games list. Our prediction is The Technomancer, which came out in 2016. While there were criticisms for the game, its lovely and rich world would be wonderful for gamers to explore next month. Plus, this game has never been featured for free through PS Plus before. It is about time that it was.

4.Tales from the Borderlands

In terms of game releases in September, one of the biggest is undoubtedly Borderlands 3. In fact, this is one of the biggest game releases for the entire year. Due to release on September 13th, it will be available on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

It makes sense to feature a game which will celebrate this release. As Borderlands: The Handsome Collection was free through the service in June, our pick for September is Tales from the Borderlands by Telltale Games. This five-episode saga released on PS3 and PS4 as well as all other major platforms. While Sony has made it free through PlayStation Plus in the past, it hasn’t happened since 2017. So maybe it will be free again next month.
