Free Xbox Games With Gold October 2019: Our Predictions

Taking a break from enjoying the Xbox Live Games with Gold free games for September 2019? If you are wondering what the free Xbox Games with Gold October 2019 games will be, we have a few predictions for you to check out. As usual, this list is inspired by the list of upcoming game releases for Xbox One.

1.Has-Been Heroes

If you are a fan of the Trine series, you probably know that on October 8th, both Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince and Trine: Ultimate Collection will be releasing on Xbox One, PS4, Switch and PC. Being as that is the case, we think maybe this is a good time for Microsoft to feature another game by developer Frozenbyte for free. One possibility would be Has-Been Heroes from 2017. This game combined roguelike elements with action and strategy gameplay, with its highlight being its well-received combat system.

2. Def Jam Rapstar

Our next prediction is the rapping game Def Jam Rapstar. The Xbox 360 version of this game was particularly well-rated by The Guardian, and also received a favourable review from IGN. Why do we think it might be free next month? Because it was developed by Terminal Reality, which created Ghostbusters: The Video Game. The remastered version of that game will release on Xbox One and other major platforms on October 4th.

3. Fallout: New Vegas

Another Xbox 360 game we think could feasibly make the list of free games through Games with Gold in October is Fallout: New Vegas. Why? Because one of the biggest releases upcoming for next month is The Outer Worlds, which will be available on Xbox One, PS4 and PC on October 25th. This is an open world game developed by Obsidian Entertainment, so why not feature their Fallout game from 2010? New Vegas really showcased their talents, and is what a lot of players reference when looking forward to what we can hopefully expect from The Outer Worlds. What better time to explore the Mojave Wasteland?

4. Close to the Sun

That brings us around to our last prediction for the Xbox Games with Gold free games for October 2019. Storm in a Teacup developed this first person horror game, released this May on PC, and due to release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Switch on October 29th.

While this alone would be reason enough to make it free next month, the upcoming release of The Outer Worlds also makes it a good time. Why? Because both The Outer Worlds and Close to the Sun have visual styles which bear some resemblance to BioShock, with retro futurist and art deco elements. Since comparisons have been drawn between all of these games, playing Close to the Sun next month would be a lot of fun.

That is it for our October 2019 Xbox Games with Gold free games predictions. Check back later in September to find out the official list when Microsoft makes its announcement. In the meantime, enjoy September’s free games!
