Rumor: Gamers Will Be Able to Demo All Games on PS5 Instantly for Free
Imagine if it were possible to be able to demo all games on PS5 before you bought them. It sounds improbable, but it would be amazing if it happened. And that is the exact feature which is currently rumored by PS5 Only to be forthcoming on Sony’s next gen console.
Will We be Able to Demo All Games on PS5 For Free?
PS5 Only posted the following tweet:
The text reads, “PS5’s New PS Store User Interface Allows You to Browse & Try Every Game Instantly, Playable Within Seconds, With No Traditional Downloading Required, No Waiting, Before You Decide to Purchase the Full Game & Download It as Normal.”
Needless to say, it would be amazing to be able to try any game you wanted before investing your hard-earned cash in it. In fact, this would be a boon with how expensive many new games are these days. Think how many games you never bothered to pick up because you just weren’t sure they’d be worth it.
But will it happen? Honestly, this one is hard to imagine. It certainly is not impossible. But from a logistical standpoint, it seems like there would be a lot of issues. What if developers simply don’t want to offer free demos of all their games to users on a permanent basis? Will Sony just remove them from the PlayStation Store? That doesn’t seem practical. And while free demos probably would drive interest in purchasing full versions of games, one wouldn’t expect every developer to be onboard with the idea.
